Tractor of the Month

At Pittington Construction we love ALL things local + original. We have been involved in this family operated business for a VERY long time and over the years have collected and fixed up old tractors. We want to share them with you and their stories. Every month we will share to our Facebook and post on here! If you have ANY questions about them check out our facebook posts, or send us an email at info@pittingtonconstruction.com

January

1928 Caterpillar Twenty:

This tractor was bought new by the city of Denver to pull a grader in the alley ways. Had a broken oil pump gear Dad, in the picture on the left, brazed it up and hand cut the gears.

That was in 1985.

The picture on the right is of my youngest daughter driving it in 2020.

It was the first Caterpillar tractor of a new design built and it’s the 109th one made after Best and Holt joined to make Caterpillar.

February

1930 Caterpillar Sixty

The Sixty was carried over from the Best Sixty after the Holt/ Best merger.

This one came out of a collection in Oregon.

From logging to farming and road building there power and balance reliability proved to be a tractor that was better than it should have been.

From the Hoover Dam to the Holly wood sign these tractors were the go to for building in America and the world for many years.

Russia even produced a copy of their own.

March

1934 Caterpillar Twenty Two

One of the most produced small crawlers replaced the 20 (see above in January).

This one was owned by my Grandfather later his brother had it.

Purchased it with some other tractors and later through a conversion figured out that it was one of my Grandfathers cats.
